MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Uzbek forum of business and interregional cooperation will take place in Tashkent in September 2018, BelTA learned from the press service of the Council of the Republic following the meeting of Speaker of the Upper House of the Belarusian parliament Mikhail Myasnikovich with a delegation from Uzbekistan.
The talks with the Uzbek delegation led by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Botirjon Asadov were focused on the prospects of bilateral cooperation, including the parliamentary dimension and also the organization of a number of joint events, development of direct ties between the regions.
“Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed that Uzbekistan is Belarus’ key partner in Central Asia. He mentioned the joint preparations for the Belarusian-Uzbek forum of business and interregional cooperation in Tashkent in September 2018 with the participation of the parliaments and chambers of commerce and industry,” the press service said.
Botirjon Asadov, for his part, emphasized the importance of building multi-pronged cooperation between the two countries, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties and interregional cooperation.
“The parties expressed confidence that with joint efforts the two countries would find new growing points for mutual trade. Among the promising areas of cooperation is pharmaceutics, furniture manufacturing, high technology, electrical engineering, tourism,” the press service said.
