Swedish employment service wants to cooperate with all Belarus’ regions

Swedish employment service wants to cooperate with all Belarus’ regions

VITEBSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The Swedish Public Employment Service would like to expand cooperation with partners from all the Belarusian regions, Per Lindberg, project manager of the joint project “Improvement of the state employment service of Belarus” of the Swedish Public Employment Service, said at a press conference, BelTA has learned.

According to Per Lindberg there are five areas of activity within the framework of the joint project. The biggest success was achieved in the forecast and trends in the labor market. Taking part in the project are three Belarusian regions: the city of Minsk, Vitebsk Oblast and Grodno Oblast. The project will wrap up in June and its results will be assessed.

“Our Belarusian partners are true professionals. It is a pleasure to work with them. They quickly absorb the expertise and knowledge of Swedish and Lithuanian experts. We are interested in expanding our cooperation and would like such a project to cover all the Belarusian regions. Once the current project is over, we will approach our sponsors to discuss this idea,” Per Lindberg said.

The project “Improvement of the state employment service of Belarus” is implemented in accordance with the memorandum of understanding signed in May 2015 between the labor, employment and social security committee of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee and the Swedish Public Employment Service. It aims to develop the labor market forecasting models, to strengthen the cooperation with employers and raise citizens’ awareness.
