MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) - Russia and Belarus should work together to strengthen the competitiveness of their economies, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov told a press conference, BelTA has learned.
“There must be clear understanding that Russia and Belarus should strengthen the competitiveness of their economies. In this situation, we need to step up, first of all, the integration processes in addition to cooperation ties. Yesterday Alexander Lukashenko said beautiful words that the countries should not compete with each other but work together,” Ambassador Alexander Surikov said.
He explained that he means the creation of joint giant integration industrial structures on the basis of the existing economy so that they, having a large margin of strength, could pay attention to innovations, technological upgrade, and market competition.
Ambassador Alexander Surikov also believes that Belarus and Russia should promote cooperation between regions.
