Singapore interested in cooperation with Belarus in agriculture, industry, IT

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) - Singapore is interested in cooperation with Belarus in agriculture, industry and IT, the press service of the Economy Ministry told BelTA following the meeting between Belarus’ Deputy Economy Minister Alexander Yaroshenko and Singaporean Minister of State for Trade and Industry Koh Poh Koon.

The parties discussed the development of economic and investment cooperation between the countries, both in bilateral format and in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Alexander Yaroshenko informed the Singaporean side about the investment potential of Belarus and the preferential regimes. These include the free economic zones, Hi-Tech Park, and the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park Great Stone.

During the meeting, Mr Koh Poh Koon noted the importance of an agreement on free trade zone that may be signed between the Eurasian Economic Union and Singapore. It will give a signal to Singapore companies to invest in the Belarusian economy. According to him, the priority areas for Singaporean investment are agriculture, industry and IT sector of Belarus.

Alexander Yaroshenko assured the Singapore delegation of the maximum support for joint projects on behalf of the Economy Ministry.
