OSTROVETS, 12 October (BelTA) – The reactor pressure vessel for the second power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant will be delivered to the construction site in late October, BelTA learned from Anatoly Bondar, Chief Engineer of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, on 12 October.

A reactor pressure vessel, steam generators, and a transport sluice for the first power-generating unit are now in Russia’s Veliky Novgorod on the way to the Belarusian nuclear power plant construction site.

The reactor pressure vessel has already been loaded onto a railway platform and will leave for Belarus on 12-13 October. It will take about two weeks to get here. Thus, this piece of equipment will reach the construction site near Ostrovets in late October.

“Equipment is being delivered on schedule, every transport operation is carefully worked out. Specialists of the Belarusian nuclear power plant oversee all the operations,” concluded Anatoly Bondar.

The reactor pressure vessel and all the four steam generators have already been installed as part of the first power-generating unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The main circulation pipe of the first unit has been welded.
