Russia’s Ulyanovsk seeks to buy more Belarusian passenger vehicles

MINSK, 1 March (BelTA) – The Russian city of Ulyanovsk would like to purchase more Belarus-made trolleybuses with autonomous run and trams, the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia told BelTA following the negotiations between Belarus’ Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi and Ulyanovsk Mayor Alexander Boldakin on 1 March.

The parties discussed in detail the extensive cooperation agenda. The press service recalled that Minsk and Ulyanovsk have been sister cities since 2015. They actively exchange best practices in the field of public utilities, landscaping, and patriotic education.

The Belarusian delegation led by the ambassador has been in Ulyanovsk Oblast since 29 February. The delegation includes Minsk First Deputy Mayor Nadezhda Lazarevich, representatives of large industrial enterprises and a number of healthcare institutions. The visit began with negotiations with Ulyanovsk Oblast Governor Alexei Russkikh. The parties discussed a variety of topics - from cooperation in trade and industry to science, healthcare and culture.

A round table on industrial cooperation between Belarus and Ulyanovsk Oblast was held on the same day. Representatives of Belarusian and Russian companies discussed ways to achieve technological independence through closer cooperation.

Dmitry Krutoi visited Ulyanovsk Center for Technology Transfer (Ulyanovsk Nanocenter), the Port-Type Special Economic Zone Ulyanovsk and the aviation enterprise AeroComposite - Ulyanovsk located on its premises. Ambassador Krutoi also visited the Ulyanovsk State Institute of Civil Aviation where Belarusian students also study.

During the visit, Belarus’ Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi, Minsk First Deputy Mayor Nadezhda Lazarevich and Ulyanovsk Oblast First Deputy Governor Marina Alekseyeva laid flowers at the Eternal Glory Monument on the 30th Anniversary of Victory Square in Ulyanovsk.
