Russia’s Tula Oblast eager to buy Belarusian agricultural machines

TULA, 6 July (BelTA) – Tula Oblast is interested in buying Belarusian agricultural machines, BelTA learned from Tula Oblast First Vice Governor Yuri Andrianov on 6 July.

“We have a strong interest in buying Belarusian agricultural machines,” said Yuri Andrianov.

The official remarked that the city of Tula actively uses Belarus-made buses, trolleybuses, trams, and lifts. Compact utility vehicles for road maintenance are bought regularly.

Yuri Andrianov pointed out that Tula Oblast was one of the first Russian regions to sign a long-term agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation with Belarus. The second agreement is now in effect. During the latest Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Moscow a protocol was signed to specify the plan of joint events and measures.

Yuri Andrianov stressed that the sides had established a steady cooperation mechanism: a joint cooperation commission has been created, with sessions held annually.

“We are intent and count on further expansion of cooperation with Belarus,” concluded the head of the Tula Oblast government.

Belarusian and Russian reporters met with Yuri Andrianov as part of the media tour arranged by the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the international news agency Russia Today.
