Russia’s quotas for Belarusian forwarders discussed in Sochi

Russia’s quotas for Belarusian forwarders discussed in Sochi

MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin was surprised to learn about the situation with quotas for Belarusian forwarders, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting held on 22 September to discuss the recent talks in Sochi, BelTA has learned.

“We discussed the situation with our freight forwarders. It is not normal that the Russian Federation has increased the number of quotas for Poland, Lithuania and Latvia three times over the last three years and has reduced them for Belarusian forwarders. This cannot be called the Union State,” the Belarusian leader said.

“The Russian president was surprised to learn about the situation. As I understand it, he was not informed on the matter. Vladimir Putin said it was not right. We discussed the issue one-on-one and agreed that it should be rectified. The problem should be resolved by members of the governments of Belarus and Russia,” Alexander Lukashenko added.
