MOSCOW, 19 July (BelTA) – The authorities of Russia’s Orel Oblast are set to engage Belarusian specialists in the implementation of the regional construction program, Orel Oblast Governor Vadim Potomsky said at a press conference in Moscow on 19 July, BelTA has learned.
Vadim Potomsky specified that plans have been made to build some 550,000 square meters of residential housing in Orel. “Belarusian companies are competitive on the Russian construction market. Not every Russian company is ready to erect finished multi-storey blocks of flats for such a price,” he noted. The Orel Oblast Governor pointed out that the regional authorities are primarily interested in using Belarusian construction technologies.
Vadim Potomsky also said that the Russian region is set to strengthen cooperation with Belarus in machine-building and agriculture. Three large dairy enterprises of Orel Oblast have plans to establish cooperation with Belarusian partners. “Belarus outperforms many countries in terms of equipment and the quality of milk, including the Baltic states,” the official said.
Besides, Orel Oblast expects to receive 250 Belarus-made harvesters for its agricultural sector by year-end 2016.
“Orel Oblast has strong business relations with Belarus. Our cooperation has great prospects,” Vadim Potomsky stressed.
