MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) - Head of Belarusian Railways Vladimir Morozov and Head of Oktyabrskaya Railways, a branch of Russian Railways Viktor Golomolzin held talks in Minsk. The event took place in the Transportation Control Center of Belarusian Railways, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Railways press service.
The participants of the meeting took stock of the passenger and freight traffic in 2023, discussed prospective areas in 2024, and also cooperation on infrastructure modernization and train traffic.
Vladimir Morozov emphasized that Belarusian Railways and Oktyabrskaya Railways, promptly responding to changes in the transportation and logistics market, have identified and are successfully implementing the necessary measures to develop railway infrastructure sections on route to the ports in the North-Western region of the Russian Federation.
The parties stressed that the joint decisions and coordinated actions would allow Belarusian Railways and Oktyabrskaya Railways to ensure uninterrupted operation of railway transport in 2024 in order to meet the growing needs of the two countries in freight and passenger transportation.
The two heads of the railway companies also visited Belneftekhim and discussed current issues related to cooperation in export supplies of the Belneftekhim's products through the ports of the North-Western region of the Russian Federation, as well as work plans for 2024 and beyond.
