MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – The Russian space agency Roscosmos hopes for future joint projects with Belarus in deep space exploration, BelTA learned from Roscosmos head Igor Komarov on 22 October.
Asked whether cooperation with Belarus for studying Mars and other planets was possible in the future, the Roscosmos head said: “We maintain very good interaction in scientific affairs. In addition to sharing data we hope that we will have joint projects.”
A conference of representatives of executive government agencies of the CIS member states is scheduled to take place in Minsk on 22-23 October to discuss cooperation in space exploration. Participants of the event, including representatives of Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan, are discussing promising avenues of cooperation and ways to implement them.
Igor Kmarov noted that among other things the conference participants were expected to discuss the development of the satellite group, remote sensing of Earth, and interaction between industrial enterprises.
Participants of the conference are also expected to go on a tour of organizations of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for the sake of discussing joint projects.
