MOSCOW, 30 May (BelTA) - State Corporation Rosatom is ready to cooperate with Belarus in establishing a center for research and development of nuclear medicine, Alexander Merten, President of Rusatom International Network, said at the international forum Atomexpo in Moscow, BelTA has learned.
“Now talks are underway on the construction of a research center at the Joint Institute for Power and Nuclear Research Sosny. We are also considering the cooperation in the development of nuclear medicine in Belarus. In general, Belarus has made great advances in medicine, including transplantation, diagnostic procedures,” Alexander Merten said.
In addition to the nuclear industry Rosatom implements projects in thermal power generation and petrochemical industry. Cooperation with Belarus in these areas is also possible, Alexander Merten said.
The objective of the private institution “Rusatom International Network” is the establishment and operation of Rosatom’s regional centers abroad constituting the overseas regional network intended for international sales and promotion of the products of Rosatom nuclear energy sector.
