MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) — Romania and Belarus discussed the advantages and opportunities of the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone in Romania on 13 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Belarus Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Romania Andrei Grinkevich held talks with Secretary of the Romanian Ministry of Transport Mircea Florin Biban. The parties discussed a wide range of issues of the Belarusian-Romanian cooperation in transport industry. Andrei Grinkevich laid out Belarus’ opportunities in transport, logistics and transit and the potential of the Great Stone as a hub of the Belt and Road initiative.

The parties discussed specific joint steps to expand bilateral cooperation in the transport industry, including interaction as part of the Belarusian-Romanian intergovernmental agreement on international road passenger and cargo traffic. The parties also reviewed the status of implementation of the Viking transport project, which connects Europe, Asia, Baltic and Scandinavian states, and the prospects for launching a direct a flight between the two countries.
