MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) - Belarusian Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Avramenko met with Deputy Chairman of the Government of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of Russia Igor Zotov to discuss issues of shipbuilding, logistics, restoration of railway and air services with Nizhny Novgorod, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.
One of the important topics discussed at the meeting was the possibility of involving the enterprises of the region in shipbuilding and the use of port infrastructure for Belarus. A working group has been set up to study all the aspects of the matters.
Also on the agenda was the restoration of direct air and rail services by Russian companies. As far as cargo transportation is concerned, the parties noted that a container train runs between Minsk and Nizhny Novgorod.
“The results of mutual work show mutual interest in cooperation on this agenda, and today the main task is to give impetus to this work,” Aleksei Avramenko said.
