Putin: All issues in Belarus-Russia tax and customs cooperation have been resolved

MINSK, 6 December (BelTA) – All pending issues impeding bilateral cooperation in tax and customs matters have been removed, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Union State Supreme State Council meeting in Minsk on 6 December, BelTA has learned.

The Russian president praised the well-coordinated cooperation mechanisms in the Union State. Government agencies of the two countries, supported by the Union State Standing Committee, pursue a coordinated macroeconomic policy, promote industry-to-industry cooperation, and coordinate with each other in financial and banking matters, with a focus on minimizing damage from illegal Western sanctions and other restrictions.

“The supranational tax committee and the interstate customs center are working effectively. We have discussed these issues for a long time. It was a bumpy road. We checked with each other down to the smallest detail. But in general, both Russia and our friends in Belarus have found all the necessary solutions. And I am sure that both countries are satisfied with how these mechanisms work. They certainly play a useful role now and create conditions conducive to our robust economic growth and development,” Vladimir Putin said.
