MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – The possibility of selling more products made by the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ to Egypt and the establishment of more joint ventures in the country were discussed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Egypt met with Egyptian Minister of Public Enterprise Sector Hesham Tawfik, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
A delegation of the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ led by the company’s Deputy Director General, Commercial Director Gennady Skitov took part in the meeting. The Egyptian private sector was represented by President of the Metallurgical Industries Company Medhat Nafei and Chairman of the Engineering Automotive Manufacturing Company (EAMCO) Amin Yahya Hussein.
The sides discussed how the MAZ trucks jointly manufactured at premises of Helwan Machinery and Equipment Company of the Egyptian Military Production Ministry can be used by transport companies run by the Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector for the sake of developing freight transportation in Egypt.
The possibility of EAMCO assembling some MAZ truck and passenger vehicle models and selling the joint products to third countries was also discussed.
The sides also discussed prospects of delivering BelAZ haul trucks to mining and metallurgical companies of the Ministry of Public Enterprise Sector for the sake of implementing mining projects in Egypt.
