MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich visited the city of Almalyk on 14 May, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Tashkent.
The diplomat met with Chairman of the Board of the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex Abdulla Khursanov to discuss the projects to develop corporate infrastructure facilities and the prospects for supplying Belarusian-made wooden houses for the tourist and recreational zone and assimilating Belarusian technologies at the local dairy farm.
During his visit to the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, Ambassador Leonid Marinich extended greetings to the employees and veterans of the plant on the occasion of the Mining and Metallurgical Industry Day of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Based in the city of Almalyk, Tashkent Region, Almalyk MMC is one of the largest mining and metallurgical enterprises in Uzbekistan, accounting for about 90% of the country’s silver production and 20% its gold production, the largest copper producer in Central Asia.
