Priority areas of cooperation between Russia's Novosibirsk Oblast, Belarus outlined

MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) - Governor of Russia's Novosibirsk Oblast Andrei Travnikov named the priority areas of cooperation with Belarus during a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, BelTA has learned.

"It was important for me to come to Minsk again a month after being elected for a second term in order to continue developing cooperation in the areas that we discussed in the spring of this year. Our delegation is indeed large. Only the business part is almost 80 people. That is in addition to our famous choir that is almost 100 people," Andrei Travnikov said.

According to him, the region has sent specialists representing all areas of cooperation. "Including agriculture, in particular, the joint production of agricultural machines," the governor added.

In addition, this Russian region is interested in the exchange of competencies in the field of biotechnology (bioadditives, premixes, plant bioprotection products).

Andrei Travnikov also drew attention to a new area of cooperation related to medical centers. "Our National Medical Research Center named after Academician E.N. Meshalkin is building up relations with the Belarusian Clinical Medical Center. The goal is joint research and development of two new medical devices, namely high-power pulse generators and catheters to treat complex heart rhythm disorders," he said.

"We are looking for new niches. The program is really packed. Our delegation has teams for every area of cooperation comprising representatives of government agencies and business. They will visit a number of enterprises, hold negotiations," Andrei Travnikov added. “I also have a busy program. I plan to visit a number of enterprises that I have not visited before."
