VITEBSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Businessmen from Lodz Voivodeship, Poland are interested in tighter partnership with Vitebsk Oblast companies. The relevant statement was made by Ewa Lapaj, head of the marketing support center of the Polish town of Radomsko, in Vitebsk on 16 November, BelTA has learned. Ewa Lapaj led a delegation of representatives of Lodz Voivodeship small and medium businesses on a visit to Belarus.
According to Ewa Lapaj, these days the economy of any country greatly depends on small and medium companies since those are the most active and mobile market players. “Representatives of the Lodz Voivodeship private sector have already established contacts with Vitebsk Oblast companies. The current visit will facilitate tighter partnership and the establishment of new business contacts,” she stressed.
The Lodz Voivodeship delegation included representatives of a civil engineering company, food and agricultural companies. The visit began with a business meeting with potential partners at premises of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee. Among the potential partners were representatives of the confectionery producer Vitba, the construction company Vitebsky DSK, the greenhouse farming company Zelenkhoz, the retail chain operator OAO Vesta, and other companies. Concrete contact points and cooperation opportunities were later discussed in the Vitebsk Oblast marketing center. The guests also visited the Polish capital enterprise Modern Expo, which was described as an example of successful cooperation. The Polish businessmen expect to find new partners and ideas during Vitebsk Oblast’s third innovative entrepreneurship forum From Small to Great, which will take place in Orsha on 17 November.
Konstantin Cherny, Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, noted that the annual volume of trade between the Belarusian region and Poland is close to $60 million. The figure has been virtually unchanged for the last few years. Vitebsk Oblast exports to Poland semi-finished timber products, oil products, liquefied gas, and other kinds of merchandise. Vitebsk Oblast imports construction mixes, pharmaceutical products, and various kinds of equipment.
