Poland interested in advancing trade cooperation with Belarus in agriculture

MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Poland is interested in advancing trade and investment cooperation with Belarus in the sphere of agriculture. Polish First Deputy Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Tadeusz Romanczuk made the statement on the sidelines of the 22nd Belarus-Poland economic forum Good Neighborliness, BelTA has learned.

The official said: “Agriculture is an important component in our cooperation. I am glad that this component is emphasized during this year’s forum. Our ministry views Belarus as a very important and promising partner. I believe that our potential for trade and mutual investments in the sector of agriculture is not fully explored yet.”

Tadeusz Romanczuk underlined that geographic and cultural proximity as well as good relations between Belarus and Poland should help shape a favorable investment climate. “This is why we expect both Polish and Belarusian companies, which are interested in advancing this cooperation, to be more active. We need each other and are intent on implementing joint initiatives in agriculture,” the official stated. “We will help entrepreneurs, who are interested in advancing Belarus-Poland cooperation, in every possible way. I hope that our intensive dialogue with the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry about access to the market of agricultural products will result in growing trade between our countries.”

The Polish side also intends to take part in the food industry trade fair Prodexpo, which is due in Belarus in November. Tadeusz Romanczuk also invited Belarusian producers to participate in Polish food expos.
