MOSCOW, 6 April (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko counts on the adoption of decisions in the Union State transport sector which will be beneficial to Belarus. He told this to journalists ahead of the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State on 6 April, BelTA has learned.
“The transport program is in an active phase now. We expect that in the near future beneficial to Belarus decisions will be taken with regard to both road and air transportation in terms of alignment of tariffs,” the prime minister said.
Roman Golovchenko added that there were no programs with the implementation of the Union State programs. He said that there was a need to update some activities, with the work going smoothly in general. “Some programs are running through 2026. I think there are some until 2027. This means there is no need to be in a hurry,” he stressed.
The prime minister also recalled that last year Russia and Belarus signed an agreement on Russia granting a RUB105 billion loan to Belarus on import-substitution projects. The list included 16 projects. “They have already been agreed and approved. Belarus is conducting internal procedures: competitive bidding and drafting of technical specifications. Gomselmash has already begun utilizing the loan funds to purchase equipment. Four more projects are under discussion with our Russian colleagues. We expect to distribute the entire sum of the loan among the projects,” he added.
