MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarus is set to grow its export by 7.6% in 2024, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Council of Ministers on 29 August, BelTA has learned.
The draft social and economic development forecasts, monetary policy targets and the 2024 budget are on the agenda of the Council of Ministers’ meeting on 29 August.
“The export is to go up by 7.6%. This means that next year we need to increase the deliveries of goods, works and services to other countries by $3.8 billion over the expected export volume of this year. We have made up for the loss of markets of unfriendly countries in 2022 and 2023, so the target for 2024 is a net increase. Export revenues in 2024 should exceed $53 billion, which is an all-time high,” said Roman Golovchenko.
The foreign trade surplus is predicted to be 1.2% of GDP.
“Real disposable household income will expand by 3.5%, while real salaries will grow by almost 4%. The average monthly salary should be Br2,087. This is the maximum level in line with our estimates, provided the purchasing power of the population increases,” the prime minister noted.
