MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – All prerequisites are in place for further cooperation between Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of Russia, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting with Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast Gleb Nikitin, BelTA has learned.
We have no issues that are problematic or controversial, Roman Golovchenko noted. "This speaks to the high degree of involvement of business, enterprises, and the governments of Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in addressing the tasks spelled out in the documents that we have signed," he emphasized.
The figures speak volumes. "Direct deliveries alone amount to more than $700 million. It is important that exports and imports have approximately equal shares. Accordingly, foreign trade is balanced. It is based mainly on investment and intermediate goods," the Belarusian head of government said.
According to him, cooperation between Belarus and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast has been developing organically. "We have a similar industrial structure, similar macroeconomic indicators (in terms of population). All this creates very good conditions for further development," the prime minister emphasized.
