MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) – Production of innovative medical equipment will be launched in Belarus by 2020, Georgy Vershina, first vice rector of Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), said during a video briefing on the website of the National Press Center, BelTA has learned.
According to Georgy Vershina, a new industrial sector will be created in Belarus by 2020. “This will be a separate sector which envisages production of unique medical equipment under BNTU patents, from stents to knee joints,” he remarked.
BNTU has been working in a number of fields, including sports engineering. Georgy Vershina touched upon “unique developments to prepare athletes for competitions on a scientific basis”.
He also spoke about a program to retrain specialists in cryptocurrencies and derivatives. The program was launched by the BNTU Institute for Staff Training and Retraining in December 2018. As many as 50 people enrolled in the program in a day instead of the expected 25. The rest are waiting for their turn.
