MINSK, 7 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian company RUP Beltamozhservice has plans to set up a through freight train service China-Belarus, BelTA has learned from the enterprise.
Today the company operates a special route to supply goods to Belarus through Vladivostok. Chinese products arrive in Vladivostok by sea and then are loaded onto freight trains, each train consisting of 60-70 containers.
The first freight train departed from Vladivostok in September 2016. On 7 March Minsk will welcome the 25th. The total travel time is 9 to 10 days. The goods are transported in 20-foot and 40-foot containers that either go through customs clearance in Vladivostok port or move through the EEU territory in accordance with the customs transit procedure.
RUP Beltamozhservice’s major partner in this project is FESCO Transportation Group (Russia). The project also involves the Belarusian and Russian rail operators, RTUP Belintertrans and the Vladivostok port.
The project expedites the delivery of goods by making use of promising customs technologies such as preliminary customs e-declaration which reduces the time on cargo clearance at the point of destination.
Beltamozhservice plans to establish a through train China-Belarus.
