MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – The administration of Uzbekistan’s Tashkent Oblast and the management of the Belarusian haul trucks manufacturer BelAZ are working to set up a maintenance center for Belarusian vehicles in Tashkent. The information was released by Tashkent Oblast Governor Gulomzhon Ibragimov after meeting with Minsk Oblast Governor Anatoly Isachenko on 8 August, BelTA has learned.
A Tashkent Oblast delegation arrived in Minsk to hold meetings and invigorate regional cooperation, in particular, in trade, economy, and investment. The visit is also supposed to establish and enhance direct ties with Minsk Oblast. A visit to BelAZ Company in Zhodino is part of the delegation’s stay in Belarus.
“We intend to set up a special BelAZ service center in Tashkent Oblast so that it could service the entire central region by offering repairs and spare parts. There is a mining company in our oblast as well as coal industry companies and chemical companies, which use BelAZ trucks ranging from 30-tonne ones to 180-220-tonne giants. This is why we need this maintenance center,” explained Gulomzhon Ibragimov.
The governor noted that no facility in Tashkent Oblast offers a comprehensive set of services for now. There are no companies offering BelAZ truck diagnostics and repair. There are only dealerships, which offer spare parts.
Minsk Oblast administration representatives explained that the dealership company OOO Dizel Komplekt registered its maintenance center in August 2016. The maintenance center is supposed to offer maintenance and aftersales service for BelAZ trucks in line with individual contracts with buyers of BelAZ trucks. The maintenance center is now being brought into compliance with requirements for certified BelAZ service centers.
