MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – A new enterprise to make biotechnologies will be established in the Belarus-China industrial park Great Stone, Belarusian Healthcare Minister Dmitry Pinevich said as he visited the national research center for transfusiology and medical biotechnologies on 31 March, BelTA has learned.
According to Dmitry Pinevich, plans are in place to implement an investment project to launch the production of biotechnological products and, perhaps, recombinant vaccines against COVID-19. Initially, Belarus intended to set up the production facility at the national research center. “However, taking into account the well-developed infrastructure of the Great Stone industrial park, we intend to open the main production facilities there,” the minister explained.
The project will be implemented by the Belproect organization that has a lot of experience in this field and has already implemented large-scale projects to introduce new medical technologies and biotechnologies. “The site is ready, the concept has been drawn up. However, we would like to take our time to expand and perfect the project,” Dmitry Pinevich noted.
