MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – Beijing is interested in implementing joint projects in economy and culture. The relevant statement was made by Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of People’s Representatives of Beijing Liu Wei as he met with Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets at Minsk City Hall on 8 September, BelTA has learned.
Liu Wei was grateful for the invitation to attend festivities. He remarked that cooperation between Minsk and Beijing is developing intensively. The Beijing city government intends to facilitate the establishment of contacts between the business circles of Belarus and China. “We have many points where our interests in various spheres coincide. The implementation of the Belt and Road initiative is becoming particularly important,” noted the head of the Chinese delegation.
Andrei Shorets stressed that relations between the two capital cities should set an example for other cities to follow. Among the projects that have been implemented already he mentioned the construction of the Beijing Hotel and the residential block Lebyazhy. “We have a lot in common. We count on further fruitful work,” said the head of the Minsk city administration.
