MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Cherepovets Casting and Mechanical Plant will double the volume of production of Belarusian tractors and will increase the localization degree. The statement was made by Governor of Russia’s Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov after he met with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 5 June, BelTA has learned.
The Vologda Oblast governor said: “The creation of Union State tractors is our key project. The tractors are assembled at the industrial site in Cherepovets and have already become popular in the Russian Federation. Localizing the production of tractors in Vologda Oblast, in Cherepovets, doubling the output up to 3,500 tractors, and uniting the trading houses in order to sell tractors not only in Russia but the CIS states are the key agreements we’ve secured.”
Once the localization degree goes up, the Cherepovets-based enterprise intends to get preferences from the Russian government for the sake of stepping up the production of Belarusian vehicles. “We’ve invited the Belarus president to visit Vologda Oblast in order to inaugurate the first Union State tractor, which will get all the necessary preferences from the Russian government and will become absolutely competitive on all markets,” added the Vologda Oblast governor.
