MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – Belarus and Brazil intend to set up a joint commission on economic cooperation. The relevant memorandum was signed as Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov visited Brazil, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
The Belarusian deputy minister of foreign affairs met with Santiago Irazabal Mourao, Undersecretary General for International Cooperation, Trade Promotion and Cultural Themes at the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Negotiations were also held with Marcos Jorge de Lima, Executive Secretary at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Services of Brazil.
Representatives of Belarus and Brazil consulted about trade and economic affairs, discussed cooperation in the extraction of oil and natural gas, cooperation in agriculture and mechanical engineering. Apart from that, prospects of setting up joint manufacturing enterprises were discussed.
