ISLAMABAD, 5 October (BelTA) – Pakistan’s Sindh Province will buy haul trucks made by BelAZ to mine coal, BelTA learned from Piotr Parkhomchik, Director General of OAO BelAZ, the managing company of BelAZ Holding, on 5 October.
According to the source, serious negotiations have been held with representatives of the government of Sindh Province where one of the largest open pits will be developed to extract coal for thermal power plants. “Today we have signed an agreement on selling a batch of haul trucks. The first batch as large as 18-20 trucks will be shipped in 2017,” said the executive.
The BelAZ head noted that the coal mining project will be developed very fast and will include in more than four stages. “Every stage will need about 20-30 haul trucks,” he said.
Piotr Parkhomchik also added that apart from buying haul trucks the Pakistani side is interested in buying loaders, bulldozers, and excavators.
