Pakistan promises favorable terms to Belarusian private sector

MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Pakistan is ready to enable favorable conditions for the Belarusian private sector. Pakistani Energy Minister Khurram Dastgir mentioned it after a session of the Belarus-Pakistan commission on trade and economic cooperation on 12 January, BelTA has learned.

Khurram Dastgir said: “We have a number of proposals, including free economic zones, various tax benefits and regimes that can be used as well as the possibility of setting up joint ventures in Pakistan. We are interested in selling such products not only in Pakistan and Belarus but also in third countries in the future.”

Khurram Dastgir believes that 2023 will be a very successful year for the advancement of Belarus-Pakistan relations. “We’ve discussed various options for our cooperation in trade and in B2B relations. We are going to cooperate in education, science, and tourism. We’ve discussed innovation areas such as electric vehicles and conventional areas such as agriculture. Both countries are interested in the development of energy security, in data security,” he remarked.

The sides signed the minutes of the sixth session of the Belarus-Pakistan trade and economic cooperation commission in Minsk on 12 January. The minutes represent a roadmap for stepping up bilateral cooperation. The Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry and the Ministry of Interprovincial Coordination of Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in tourism. Pakistan’s Lok Virsa Heritage Museum and the National History Museum of Belarus also signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.
