MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) – Contracts worth more than $56 million were penned during the working visit of Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko to Russia’s Ufa and Chelyabinsk, BelTA reports.
The working visit of the Belarusian government delegation led by the prime minister to the Russian regions lasted three days. The visit was fruitful: a number of negotiations and meetings were held, new agreements were reached, contracts were signed.
Thus, during his visit to Ufa Roman Golovchenko met with Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov. The program also included visits to a number of local enterprises, including Ufa Tram and Trolleybus Plant, Service-Master, and APK Alekseevsky. In addition, the Belarusian head of government took part in the grand opening ceremony of the Amkodor-Agidel plant that will manufacture grain drying complexes. The construction of a new factory to make special-purpose equipment Amkodor-Alga also got underway.
Belarus also transferred about 70 units of equipment from its leading machine-building enterprises to Bashkortostan. The transfer ceremony took place in Ufa on 10 October. The equipment included Amkodor loaders, MAZ dump trucks, MTZ tractors, as well as trolleybuses made from MAZ vehicle kits.
While in Chelyabinsk, Roman Golovchenko met with Governor of Russia’s Chelyabinsk Oblast Alexei Teksler and visited Automobile Plant URAL.
The Belarus-Chelyabinsk business forum was co-located with the visit. A number of documents were signed at the forum, including an agreement between the Agriculture Ministry of Chelyabinsk Oblast and MTZ to supply tractors. Amkodor-Ural and Belmash-Ural penned a contract to supply Amkodor equipment. A contract was also signed for the supply of Mogilevliftmash elevators to Belur.
