MINSK, 2 August (BelTA) – Over 5.3 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 2 August, 5.387 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 4.345 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 1.042 tonnes of winter rapeseed.
The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast harvested 1.368 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Brest Oblast 1.314 million tonnes, Grodno Oblast 1.191 million tonnes, Gomel Oblast 573,300 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 552,100 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 387,000 tonnes.
As to other crops, 77.7% of spring barley, 71.6% of winter rye, 58.2% of wheat, 52.7% of oats, 51.6% of triticale, 41.2% of legumes were harvested.
All oblasts have completed harvesting winter barley and winter rapeseed.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 34,100 hectares, which is 76.1% of the area under this crop.
Straw left after harvesting cereals and leguminous crops was removed from 48.7% of the designated area.
A total of 3.470 million tonnes of grass fodder has been harvested (35.3% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 12.3 million tonnes of fertilizers were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 2.36 million tonnes of fertilizers have already been applied.
