MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Over 5.1 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 1 August, 5.119 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 4.083 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 1.036 tonnes of winter rapeseed.
The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast harvested 1.291 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Brest Oblast - 1.262 million tonnes , Grodno Oblast - 1.126 million tonnes, Gomel Oblast - 550,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast - 524,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast - 365,500 tonnes.
As to other crops, 76.2% of spring barley was harvested, 68.4% of winter rye, 54.3% of wheat, 47.2% of oats, 46.6% of triticale, 38% of legumes.
All oblasts have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 33,000 hectares, which is 73.7% of the area under this crop.
Straw left after harvesting cereals and leguminous crops was removed from 48.7% of the designated area.
A total of 3.448 million tonnes of grass fodder have been harvested (35.1% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 12.3 million tonnes of fertilizers were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 2.31 million tonnes of fertilizers have already been applied.
