MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry released information about progress of agricultural work as of 3 September, BelTA has learned.
As much as 97% of the crops to be harvested have been harvested in Belarus as of today. The figure includes 98% of the headed cereals and leguminous crops and 92% of rapeseed. A total of 7.040 million tonnes of grain has been produced, including rapeseed.
Belarusian agricultural enterprises are busy harvesting cereal crops. As much as 9,180 tonnes of buckwheat and 7,390 tonnes of millet have been produced so far.
The agricultural enterprises are also harvesting potatoes, with over 43,500 tonnes produced so far. Potato yield stands at 379 centners per hectare for now.
The sowing of winter rapeseed for grain has been completed in Belarus. All the regions of the country have also completed flax pulling. Work to gather in flax straw continues in the regions, with 62,000 tonnes produced. The agricultural enterprises are also gathering in straw after harvesting headed cereals and leguminous crops. Straw has been gathered from 68% of the area formerly occupied by cereals and leguminous crops.
The Agriculture and Food Ministry also noted that over 2.332 million tonnes of green corn mass has been collected so far.
