MINSK, 19 July (BelTA) – Over 2.3 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 19 July, 2.373 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 1.630 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 743,000 tonnes of winter rapeseed.
Gomel Oblast and Brest Oblast are finishing harvesting winter rapeseed (98.5% and 95%). The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 639,500 tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Minsk Oblast 560,500 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 546,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 314,000 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 215,800 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 97,100 tonnes.
As to other crops, 57.5% of spring barley was harvested, 25% of winter rye, 12.5% of wheat, 11% of triticale, 9.3% of legumes, and 3.3 % of oats. All oblasts have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 17,800 hectares, which is 39.7% of the area under this crop.
A total of 3.211 million tonnes of grass feed was harvested (32.7% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 11.5 million tonnes of fertilizers (88.7% of the target) were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 1.92 million tonnes (14.8%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
