MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – Over 2.1 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 18 July, 2.163 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 1.475 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 688,000 tonnes of winter rapeseed.
The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 589,500 tonnes, Minsk Oblast 519,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 477,100 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 289,100 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 200,300 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 88,300 tonnes.
All the regions have finished harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 16,500 hectares, which is 36.9% of the area under this crop.
A total of 3.186 million tonnes of grass feed was harvested (32.5% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 11.4 million tonnes of fertilizers were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 1.89 million tonnes (14.7%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
