VITEBSK, 1 February (BelTA) – Orsha Linen Mill will ship the first batch of fabric to India. Dmitry Muravyev, Deputy Director General for Commercial Affairs at Orsha Linen Mill, told BelTA that the trial batch of products will be sent to the new market in the near future.
“We have signed a big contract with an Indian textile company involved in wholesale and retail trade. They offer fabrics from all over the world. The negotiations were long, and we took into account all demands of our partners. We have agreed that the Indian company will buy $1 million worth of our products. We are working on the implementation of the contract. Representatives of the foreign company have already visited the plant. A trial batch has been made, and the $59,000 worth batch of fabric will be dispatched to South Asia in the near future. Orsha Linen Mill has never sold to India before,” Dmitry Muravyev stressed.
He pointed out that the plant is working hard to find new markets and strengthen its foothold in those countries where it already has presence. For instance, in 2016 Orsha Linen Mill launched exports to Tunisia, Morocco, New Zealand, and South Africa. Besides, the plant launched direct supplies of ready-made products to China.
Orsha Linen Mill exports over 80% of its output to 36 countries.
