MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – Orsha Linen Mill has presented its products at the 21st edition of Sorochyntsi Fair that is taking place in the village of Velyki Sorochyntsi near Poltava, Ukraine, on 20-25 August, BelTA learned from the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom.
This is not the first time the company represents Belarus at this event. The company’s pavilion features linen home textiles and linen clothing.
The village of Velyki Sorochyntsi has been the venue of Ukraine’s most flamboyant trade fair since the 19th century. Sorochyntsi Fair is not just a showcase of products, but a mix of pageantry, theater, dance and singing. The entertainment program re-enacts scenes of village life from famous Ukrainian stories. The most common commodities traded at the fair include food and beverages, clothes and shoes, fur products, textile goods, jewelry, gardening tools and agricultural machinery and fertilizers, building materials, honey and crockery.
More than 500,000 people visit the fair annually. Taking part in it are up to 1,500 companies, entrepreneurs and artisans from Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Germany, and Poland.
Orsha Linen Mill is Europe’s biggest producer of linen fabrics and linen products. In 2018 the company’s products were shipped to 42 states, including 33 countries of the far abroad.
