MINSK, 16 October (BelTA) – The development of infrastructure of Minsk National Airport will help improve the business climate of Minsk, BelTA learned from Romina Samatkhanova, the press secretary of the airport.

On 14 October, the Belarusian head of state signed Decree No.378 to change borders of Minsk and Smolevichi District for comprehensive development of the area around Minsk National Airport. Land plots of legal entities with the total area of more than 321 hectares in Smolevichi District will be incorporated into the Belarusian capital. As from 1 January 2020 these areas will be part of Oktyabrsky District of Minsk.

“The area around Minsk National Airport has practical significance and should be well-developed and landscaped. Around the airport we need the infrastructure that can be integrated with the company's premises. These may be business and exhibition centers, parking lots and hotels. This will help the city attract investors and improve business climate,” Romina Samatkhanova said.

Minsk National Airport is Belarus’ first international airport that has been certified in compliance with the international standard ISO 9001. The airport offers flights to over 40 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and other regions.
