MINSK, 14 September (BelTA) – The opening of the center of commerce, science, technology, education and culture of China’s Gansu Province will help implement the Silk Road Economic Belt project, Deputy Head of the Gansu Commerce Department Zhang Shien told BelTA at the opening ceremony on 14 September.

He said that over 1,600km of the Silk Road Economic Belt will be situated in Gansu. For centuries Gansu has been a vitally important corridor between China and Central Asia. This province was the golden part of the ancient Silk Road. Numerous monuments such as churches, monasteries, pagodas, towers, ancient castles situated along the Silk Road testify to that. Apart from that, a major part of the Great Wall of China which is an impressive monument of architecture was located in the province.

Zhang Shien stressed that the province is vigorously developing. The biggest Chinese corporations are situated there. One of these corporations is Wuwei Quansheng Corporation. The representatives of this enterprise have arrived in Minsk to establish ties with Belarusian colleagues. The company is also interested in cooperation with Grodno partners. In particular, there are plans to implement Belarusian-Chinese tourism projects in Grodno. The sides will also develop cooperation in agriculture, especially in the dairy industry.

An agreement on cooperation between the Belarusian National Technical University and Wuwei Quansheng Corporation was signed at the opening ceremony.
