MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) – Oman is interested in setting up joint ventures to produce Belarusian freight and farm equipment. The statement was made at the talks held as part of the visit of the Belarusian delegation led by Belarus’ Trade Minister Vladimir Koltovich to Oman, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting of Vladimir Koltovich with Minister of Trade and Industry of Oman Ali Al Sunaidy focused on the entire range of Belarus-Oman cooperation issues. “Oman was interested in setting up joint ventures to produce Belarusian freight and farm equipment, the import of foodstuffs and the participation of Belarusian enterprises in the implementation of the Oman food security program,” the press release of the press service reads.

The Belarusian trade minister also met with Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman Sayyid Badr Albusaidi to discuss the establishment of the intergovernmental commission for the development of cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology and humanitarian issues.

At the meeting of Vladimir Koltovich with Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Oman Saeed Al Kiyumi the sides agreed to organize the visit of a big group of businessmen from Oman to Belarus.

The Belarusian delegation also held talks with Chief Investment Officer at the State Reserve Fund of Oman Mulham Al-Jarf to discuss the development of the bilateral investment cooperation.
