MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – It is necessary to straighten out the Belarusian agricultural machinery company Gomselmash and considerably improve the quality of the products it makes. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko gave the relevant instructions as he authorized the appointment of Alexander Novikov as Gomselmash’s director general on 28 March, BelTA has learned.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed he is well aware of the situation in the company and it is alarming. “After visiting Gomselmash I suggested taking a closer look at the enterprise because I’d heard complaints from there. When looked at closely, the enterprise turned out to have a bunch of problems,” the president noted.
This is why the head of state urged the new head of the company to put things right, fix the personnel problems, and take measures to prevent any kinds of offence against the law. “Keep an eye if someone decided to cover up the problems. Some people over there have been cuffed. Other ones, who were supposed to control things, are staying at home, nice and quiet, after stealing a lot. They think we can’t get them,” the president said.
Alexander Lukashenko stressed that the new head of the company should be primarily interested in fixing the complicated situation and putting things right in the company. “He should be interested in moving heaven and earth. He understands it perfectly well. Why does he have to tackle the problems? He doesn’t want responsibility for it,” the head of state added.
