MINSK, 15 September (BelTA) – A new regular container train will be commissioned in September 2016 to deliver cargoes between Lanzhou, China and Kolyadichi, Belarus, the press service of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry told BelTA.
The Belarusian state enterprise Belintertrans — Transport-Logistics Center (BTLC) in association with Belintertrans Germany, interested exporters in China and importers in Belarus will offer regular transportation by container train between Lanzhou and Kolyadichi. On 15-19 September the first train with 63 loaded containers will leave Lanzhou to cross Kazakhstan and Russia and arrive at the Kolyadichi terminal in Minsk.
According to the source, the container train will be able to ship any cargoes from China to Belarus. The travel time between the destinations in Belarus and China is estimated at roughly ten days.
The logistics hub Kolyadichi is a leading terminal for processing large-size containers, heavy cargoes, and cargoes in unique packaging. Both railway and automobile transport are used for processing and transshipping cargoes to the regions of Belarus, the CIS states, the Baltic states, and non-CIS states.
