MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) will showcase more than 40 innovations and technologies at the exhibition “Belarus-Egypt: Forward-Looking Partnership” in Cairo, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

“Scientists of Belarus and Egypt have productive scientific relationship. There is an agreement of cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology of Egypt, under which joint projects are being implemented in crop farming, nano-materials, molecular genetics, and metal technology. These projects will be on show at the exhibition in Cairo,” the press service said.

The NASB materials research center will demonstrate a typical modular water treatment station Geoprofil. It is designed to purify water from underground sources from residues. The station can be built into new or existing water supply facilities. All equipment is made of stainless steel. The station is fully automated with online data transmission. “Scientists of the research center will also showcase a prototype of a supercapacitor based on graphene-containing material. It is unmatched in the world,” the press service said.

The NASB multi-purpose drone research center will display a number of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) such as Burevestnik, Busel M40 and Busel M50, a model of the Yastreb drone, and a drone based on air ship. The UAVs are designed for video monitoring of terrain and objects, escorting mobile objects with the possibility of determining their coordinates and transmitting video information via radio channel to the ground control station and other remote consumers.

Scientists from the NASB Institute of Genetics and Cytology will present biotechnology for animal husbandry, fish farming, crop production, food products at the exhibition in Cairo. These innovative technologies help carry out genetic examination of cattle and pigs, to establish species by DNA analysis, to carry out marker-accompanying selection of agricultural plants by stability and quality genes, to determine the presence of genetically modified sources in agricultural raw materials, food products, feed and seed material. Scientists will also showcase modern genetic technologies in healthcare and sports genetics.
