Myasnikovich: Belarus brings innovative products to Russia

SOCHI, 17 September (BelTA) – Belarus comes to the Russian market with innovative products, not some old stuff, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said opening the joint Belarusian-Russian industrial exhibition at the Second Forum of Regions in Sochi on 17 September, BelTA informs.

Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that as much as 20% of products that Belarus supplies to the Russian market are innovative goods. “We do not bring here old stuff, we come with good innovative and competitive products,” the Speaker said.

According to the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, Russia and Belarus are industrially developed states. “Our processing industry accounts for almost 30% of GDP. Belarus ranks 43rd in the world Knowledge Index rating,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich. In his words, these figures demonstrate the presence of a huge potential that can be fulfilled at the interregional level of the two countries.

Sochi is playing host to the Second Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia which will last through 18 September. The plenary session of the forum will be attended by more than 350 representatives of the legislative and executive powers of Belarus and Russia, heads of big companies and business communities of the two countries.
