MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Two electric buses, co-produced by Russia and Belarus, will be tested in the Moscow streets in December 2016, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian embassy in Russia with reference to Mosgortrans, an operator of ground urban transport in Moscow.
E433 Vitovt Max Electro bus made by Belkommunmash will also join the trial. The relevant documents were signed during the ExpoCityTrans 2016 expo in Moscow.
It is expected that the use of electric buses will improve the quality of public transport services and improve the environmental situation in the capital.
The Russian electric bus will carry up to 86 passengers, while the Belarusian vehicle is designed to transport 153 passengers. Moscow plans to buy ten more buses to increase its electric fleet in 2017.
