CHISINAU, 5 May (BelTA) – There are plans to export Belkommunmash trolleybuses assembled in Moldova to the EU countries in the future, Chisinau Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca said on 5 May as he commented on the prospects of the joint assembling project after the signing of the agreement to double the number of Belkommunmash trolleybuses assembled in Moldova, BelTA informs.
Dorin Chirtoaca noted that once Belkommunmash trolleybuses produced in Moldova renew the trolleybus fleet of Chisinau in full, they will be advanced by Moldova to foreign markets taking into account the agreement on free trade between Moldova and the EU. Assembled trolleybuses will be certified as a product made in Moldova in cooperation with Belarus. According to the Chisinau mayor, Belarusian trolleybuses have made a good showing in Chisinau.
Belkommunmash Director Vladimir Korol noted that according to the agreements the trolleybus control system will be produced in Moldova. Minsk will provide technical consultations and professional assistance. “With full responsibility we can say that the Belkommunmash trolleybus assembled in the Moldavian capital is a product of joint assembling of the Minsk and Chisinau companies. We have plans for further innovation development,” Vladimir Korol stressed.
In turn, Belarus’ Ambassador in Moldova Sergei Chichuk expressed hope that the project has big prospects not only within Moldova but also other countries.
