CHISINAU, 17 January (BelTA) – Moldova is eager to ramp up the export of wine, cognac, fruit, vegetables, and corn seeds to Belarus, BelTA learned from Minister of Agriculture and Food Policy of Moldova Vasily Bumakov.
According to the minister, the possibility to increase the supply of these products to Belarus was discussed at the meeting with First Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister of Belarus Leonid Marinich within the framework of the International Green Week Berlin agricultural expo. The sides also discussed the expansion of trade ties in the agricultural industry.
It is worth saying that in the recent years Belarus has been the leader in the consumption of Moldovan wines and cognacs. The Belarusian market was the second largest importer of fruit and vegetables for Moldova before the introduction of the Russian embargo on the delivery of Moldovan fruit and vegetables.
